Questions Raised by the Acts & Epistles
As we rocket through our New Testament survey, important questions pop out of familiar passages:
- When was The Church born; when did it begin?
- What is a biblical definition of “The Church” (Greek Ekklesia)? What does the definition of Ekklesia have to do with the Rapture Question?
- How did the first-century church keep the New Commandment (John 13.34) and pursue the Great Commission?
- Should we strive to imitate the first-century church, or should we feel totally free to reshape the church into something more relevant to our generation?
- What are the danger signs, if any, that a local congregation is losing the character of what can rightly be called a “Christian” church?
- What is the Gospel?
- What is sin, and what is implied about sin by the fact that infants die?
- Does God still have a purpose for the nation of Israel in the Christian era?
- Is the God of the New Testament really the same God as the God of the Old Testament?
- Why did an all-powerful God allow evil to enter His universe (The Philosophical Problem of Evil)?
